No, otherwise every player would do it.

NFL sometimes has open tryouts i think where someone can walk onto a team.

Maybe you have to be a certain age to walk on.

once you become draftable age (like the foreign players) they can just draft and own your rights.

No. IIRC you have to enter the draft and at some point (age 24 I think?) you become auto eligible for the draft so.. if no one drafts you then you can sign for whichever team you'd like otherwise the team that drafted you would hold your rights.

I'm not completely sure but it's something like this I believe.

If you skip the draft, you are just giving up millions of dollars. Your initial salary is based on where you're drafted. No agent in his right mind will tell a player to do that.

iF YOU enter after I want to say 25. Just like some of the Seniors they don't declare for the draft. But yes they could hold out to go to the team they want to they just have to make it known and they will be passed over. But if another team picks them they will own there rights.
