Why does Cena have to have excuses made when he has good matches? I could easily use this logic with a lot of favorites around here.



That's the thing though his character isn't for us, it's for kids and women.

I already said he was capable and used the match he had with DC Dave as an example of pullin off a good match with someone who isnt a worker? If you gunna comeback atleast drop some examples or is not using gimmick matches too hard ? Instead of tryin to troll and turn my question back on me and use only can make matches with shyt, i didnt even say that. Im just talkin about decent matches were theres enough entertainment where you go Cena did a good job there with crap.

Put Cena in any sort of gimmick match with shyt and he does a good job.

Better yet..name when he doesn't do something silly in a match like get up from two finishers ala Summerslam 2010 and squash Wade and Gabriel in 45 seconds after a DDT on concrete. That's old school Undertaker type shyt.

I'm not trolling here friend, the thread was about naming the last 5 horrible John Cena matches. I agreed with the OP's point and named a bunch of matches that were all great this year and you came making excuses for them when in reality we can make excuses for ANY great match.

Cena is not thaaaat bad of a worker. He pulled good matches outta the likes of Khali, a very green Lashley, etc. And the fact that he is so hated by IWC/Male audience makes his matches enjoyable cuz the crowd is into it. (see vs RVD, vs CM Punk, etc)

People shyt on him cuz his character is horrible, which causes us to embellish his flaws and shyt. I think he does aight for his limitations. His character is meant to be a strong brawler type anyway (which is fine cuz he is actually strong in real life unlike some others lol), not a technically sound wrestler.

With that said, recently his matches with Johnny L and Big Show that headlined PPVs were pretty bad. His matches with Kane were mediocre as well.

But he's been involved in plenty of good matches and classics so

He gets hate for his ring work because he has a very basic set of moves and he sucks when it comes to execution. People hate his corny ass gimmick, so watching him win all the time with the same comeback annoys a lot of the fans. Also, he can't carry lesser talent (he had a fun match vs Khali once though).


To me, that doesn't take away from the fact the he is the best "main event" worker they have. Even though his limitations are VERY clear, the norm is for him to have very entertaining matches

And what excuses did i make? because i said they know how to work thats not an excuse thats the truth put someone who is capable in the ring with a solid worker/seller theres no excuse not to be havin good matches, unless the chemistry is off/not there like it was with Brock/HHH. And the gimmicks matches is what people used against Edge & Meth in the past or is it that they just spot monkeys and they dont count?

I remember him having a good match with Mark Henry this year. No gimmics but let me guess Mark is known as a great worker. :smugcoke:

This year he has pretty much only wrestled Punk/Bryan/Big Show/Ziggler and I think Jericho not sure.

The only match I remember not being so great was against Big Show and even that wasn't so bad.

I could come up with excuses for his bad matches just as you do for his good matches but I don't have the same agenda as you. The OP was about Cena's recent run of great matches and I totally agree.
