Marriage as a state institution is the problem. When the government is denying law abiding citizens rights, benefits, and privileges; that's the problem. God has absolutely nothing to do with it because those same Christians who bring up its a sin in the eyes of good never give two fukks about a heterosexual atheist couple getting married.
The biggest problem with this homo shyt is that it will go past being accepted and tread waters to becoming promoted.
