Now I saw this and at first everything was making sense, I thought it was a regular monster movie. But then when the mom started noticing signs also it made me think maybe it's all in her head. But towards the end when the son says "You can't get rid of the Babadook." and got dragged up the stairs that shyt had me like

So it is real??? And right before the credits when she took it the bowl of worms

I think it was in both of there heads
dealing with stress/ loss/ depression

it wasn't a REAL monster

the movie is kind of like The Shining

I think the worm scene was a representation of those feelings/thoughts/emotion (The Babadook) will always be there in your mind but you don't have to make it take control over you. If you think about it, it's actually a pretty dark ending even tho it implied a happy one
