Can Judd Apatow recreate the magic he had with "Knocked Up" with "This Is 40"?

I saw the trailer to this ("sorta of sequel") movie for the first time last night and wasn't quite sure what to think about it. Knocked Up is a classic as far as I am concerned but either way, I'll check it out. It looks alright judging it from this trailer:

I might be one of the few who actually liked Funny People although the movie wasn't anything compared to Knocked Up or 40 Year Old Virgin. But for some reason, I thought the movie was ok.

My main complaint was it was too much of a drama. I understand that's Judd's style, but with knocked up and 40 year old virgin it was like 80% comedy 20% drama. The last 30 minutes of the movie had me like I guess you're right though, It's an ok movie it's definitely watchable.

Yeah, I agree. I'm hoping with this "This Is 40" movie he was able to put together something funny but with a great story.

Oh I agree, 100%. It seems like he wanted Funny People to be a love, comedy, and drama story. Again, the movie felt like 3 movies combined into one. Nevertheless, it's still one of those movies that I enjoy watching though.

Other trailers for this movie looked funny, but from THIS trailer......I will not be going to see that. Looks kinda "2 star"ish to me
