Can I Use My Prepaid Sim On An Iphone 4s?

Been rocking with this 3Gs for a minute now. After dealing with sprint i swore i would never go back to a contract. Dont like how long the 5 is and the 4s is pretty much the same for less. Could i use my prepaid sim in and continue to ?
