Majority of people im prison, particularly black men are in jail for non violent offenses related to drugs.
In stead of Republicans passing legislation to reduce the rate that these people go to prison vis jobs programs and financial assistance they will just push more draconian laws that are designed to be more punitive.
They have already done it. It's not about majority of black people aren't in prison. It's about the fact that you have an outsized black male population in prison for non violent offenses that should have required a different punishment.
