Can anyone on this site honestly find unity amongst diversity?

Ever since i've been on the coli, there's been a number of racism, and bigotry towards diversities of races, cultures, or religions
I understand (or if thats too vague) at least have an idea of the quarell amongst each race, but I walk outside I see a black man, white man, asian, etc and treat them as they're only human and overlook color

Race, Religion, Cultural ignorance exists equally, i while i do respect a man of any color, or culture I dont respect ignorance, racism, or bigotry...
Is there anyone here who shares the same humanitarianism, speak

As a minority on the coli, yes. Honestly most black people here are just a little salty over race. Some dudes are mad about their pathetic lives and failures, and chalk it up to race and race alone.

I try and bridge the gap with humor :manny:

I'm on the same level, dog. If more humans did this, the world would be a much better place.

nah, I don't hate or even dislike anyone solely based on the color of their skin.

as far as the internet goes, I never look at a post and think to myself "oh, this poster looks at/listens to/types like their this/that/the other race", either.

I'm black. All my life I've been constantly shown and told over and over and over what racism is, how bad we've been treated (and are STILL treated) because of it and the struggle our forefathers had to go through dealing with it.

with that said.... How the fukk could I, or ANY of us be biggoty ass racists?

I hear you, I'm often like :damn: when I see some of the posts here...my approach has always been to judge people by their acts...now I'm not going to act holier-than-thou and say I'm NEVER prejudiced (we all have prejudices) but I try to fight those natural tendencies and act in a sensible way, and always try to treat others how I'd like them to treat me/my family/my friends.

I think a LOT of it has to do with ignorance, but also a certain laziness. It's tiring to realize that the world is a complex place and that people are complex beings. It's much easier to see 9/11 and say "fukk muslims/Arabs" than to actually go out and try to understand who is who and who does what, and why. And it seems like people are getting more and more stuck in a bipolar way of thinking: you're Black OR White, you're Democrat OR Republican, you're a Believer OR a Non-Believier (thus going to Hell), you're against same-sex marriage OR you're pro-Gay (:stopitslime:)...it's this black or white, "You're with us or against us" Bushlike zero-sum way of seeing the world that creates all this hate IMO

I won't really get into it but Iwas in Youth movements before and a regular exercice we did was to think of the different identities we have. While the easy ones are nationality, ethnicity, occupation, gender...it's funny that other aspects of our identities (father/mother/son/daughter, the language you speak, where you live, educated or not, hobbies...) also have a big impact on who we are, and could often be used to bridge the gap with those that we perceive as total "foreigners".
