Bought a 4tb plug n play external hard drive

Elements

To watch movies on my ps4

Re formatted it to exfat and msdos fat 32 and neither will work (that in itself was a bother but i did it through terminal...i am really useless at tech stuff)

Files are on the hard drive but when i try it in the PS4 just says there is no playable media

I tired the PS4>VIDEO> then films trick, nothing working

You all would be way more tech savvy than me

Is there anything i can do to fix this?

Thanks brehs

4tb :snoop:...told y'all i was useless:russ:
What kind of hard drive did you get? What's the manufacturer and model?
Maybe post a link to it.
Sounds like you got one of those hard drives with a hub on it, which the PS4 does not support.
My brother did the same thing on accident recently and had to get another hard drive for the PS4 and ended up just using the one with the HUB for computer back up.

That one should work fine, and the PS4 should format it.
Not sure why you are having any issues with it.

The only thing I can think of is that maybe it has a tiny partition somewhere that the PS4 is picking up.

I would connect it back to a PC. Check disk management and see what the partitions looks like. If it's just one I don't know what to tell you. Maybe a different USB port will work, but I doubt that is the problem.
