Can a guy really be in the NBA GOAT convo if rules were not created to slow him down?

Illegal offense to slow down Jordan

5 second Back to basket to slow down Barkley

Zone to slow down Iverson.

Offensive goal tending & widening court to slow down Wilt.

CBA second tax apron to slow down LeBron from getting more help

Banning use of non basketball moves to draw fouls to slow down Harden.

Shooters can't kick out legs on shots to draw fouls to slow down Reggie Miller

Etc.

I would have to say if the NBA didn't create rules to slow a guy down he doesn't have a Goat Claim. He wasn't dominate enough to threaten competitive balance.

The flagrant foul was created because Jordan kept whining to the league the Pistons were bad for basketball, because they were kicking his ass year in and out. Even Jordan’s buddies like Barkley loudly complained you couldn’t touch Jordan without hearing a whistle.

Michael Jordan Called Isiah Thomas-Led Pistons 'Unworthy Champions, Terrible People And An Embarrassment To The NBA': 'That’s What Prompted That Walk-Out'

Hmmm....you mean flagrant foul rule was adjusted.

If anything flagrant foul creation coincided with magic/bird basically coming into the league....:comeon:

The har_en and Reggie miller shyt was about them doing unnatural non basketball stuff to exploit the rules to draw bogus fouls. Nobody should be allowed to do that ever. The zone was not about iverson either given how he’d barely crack 40% shooting most seasons. He shot over 42% just once prior to zones being allowed. It was about slowing down Shaq.

Commissioner blocking Chris Paul trade to Lakers was to slow Kobe down. Not even sure how to categorize it.
Why are we still trying to push this shyt about that trade? LA’s frontcourt was fukked if they made that trade and it was a terrible deal for New Orleans so the league smartly overruled it. Taking on a bunch of solid to good players on big contracts who clog up the cap space with no high draft picks attached is the worst situation a team can be in and not a lot of guys would’ve wanted to buy a team in that situation.

The league implemented illegal offense to slow down Jordan?

What is illegal offense?

"In 1987, the NBA implemented an illegal offense rule to prevent Michael Jordan from isolating himself on the court. The rule prohibited teams from having three players behind the three-point line who weren't participating in the play."

They literally “altered” the entire CBA and salary cap restrictions so it’d be tougher to get “super teams” in this current era

The 1st and 2nd apron (specifically 2nd) hinder you so greatly you cant go over it and expect to compete for any length of time. It’s why there is extreme parity the past 6 years

Whoever you wanna credit that to you can make a valid point in it.
