Trying to run but I'm all types of fukked up:flabbynsick::flabbynsick::flabbynsick:

Basically overweight like hell and get shin splints. Thinking I'll hit a running store to get fitted but wanted to ask here first

Should've posted this in the gym for real advice.

It doesn't matter what shoes you have.

I run in basketball shoes.

Idk with Covid but go to your Walmart or any store that has those Dr Scholl's machines and find out which of those pads work best for your feet.

Nike Infinity React or Pegasus, Adidas Ultraboost, any Asics or Brooks. Some runners might turn their nose up on Nike/Adidas but it's whatever. If you carrying a lot of weight I might look for an Ultraboost or maybe a New Balance Fresh Foam because of the bounce they have. Go for last year's models and you can find a good deal

Might be able to get some Nike epic react flyknit 2s for cheap now...those are some of the best jogging shoes I've ever had

Pegasus 36s are good also

Start speed walking before you run imo, also diet and cut back on weight before getting into a full running routine.

With that said My last two purchases were the Brooks Ghosts running shoes. Also spare no expense on running shoes and proper cushion insoles to put inside them. It's the dumbest thing you can do.

Proper insoles are going to make ur running experience so much better and truly protect ur feet and legs long term.

Go to Fleet Feet breh.

They got a machine that does a 3d/4D scan of your feet. You don't have to buy there but def go get scanned if you have one nearby.

I got flat ass feet, and an in-step. I rock the brooks ghost line and feel much better when i run.

Both these posts are the correct answer. You really should go get a scan of your feet so you can get proper shoes and insoles. I have flat feet as well and without a proper insole, my body hates me no matter what type of shoes I'm wearing. When I'm doing short runs I wearNew Balance Fresh Foam 1080s and longer runs I wear Brooks Adrenaline GTS. That said I only run on track.
