I give myself 2-3 days rest, and when those days are up, I'm no longer sore.

I'm doing pull ups, push ups and dips at the moment.

I do small reps, but I do 50 of each no matter how long it takes.

Probably a stupid question, but I need answers and feed back.

:yeshrug:

Sidenote, I've been seeing some good and quick results since I started doing calisthenics.

Sounds like you're out of shape to me. :ld:

DOMS (that soreness) is an indication that the muscle is either not regularly used or was used in a novel way. :flabbynsick:

I've only been working out for a couple weeks, so I can see that.

:ehh:

Ah, gotcha.

To answer the question, in your case, yes it is normal but will go away as you get used to working out more and more.

Try static stretching and foam rolling (or use a rolling pin, piece of PVC pipe, etc.) to help with the DOMS.

Eventually you won't get sore unless you completely switch up you workout and do exercises you're not used to doing.

Pro-tip: Not getting sore does NOT mean you're not getting a good workout in. A lot of people think this nonsense. :snoop:

Not at all once you get into the groove.

Once you’re well trained, you actually start chasing that soreness.

You can get a full workout in and feel nothing if you’re not consistently pushing yourself beyond your limits. Even then the soreness is just minor, if that.

You are most likely new to weight lifting consistently. Took me about a year or so before I stopped getting sore at all and this is while I’m chasing soreness lol.

He's not lifting, he's doing cals. The soreness should abate more quickly since the resistance is not being increased as readily/frequently. :francis:

Is it joint pain or your muscles?
