Petty crime is out of control in California, people are pissed. It makes sense, DA in Alameda also is getting recalled.
I dont know a single person whos happy about petty theft/retail theft being so rampant. business owners are pissed, customers are pissed businesses are closing, and thieves being caught and then let go with a slap on the wrist really doesnt sit well with many. They swung wide one way, they will swing wide the other way now.

Agreed. Also they got sideshow happening every weekend, going to a target and half of the store is locked up because of petty crime is ridiculous. I think its two issues; the cops are way to lenient and second the punishment needs to be more severe. I understand restorative justice but they have taken it way too far and its affecting people's day to day lives.

These all failed? Holy shyt. I want to see how people explain this, if they even acknowledge it.

People hate prisoners. They say that if you're in prison, you should be able to be forced to work if we're paying to house, feed, and clothe them.

CA already has a high MW and most companies pay above it anyway.

Taking out loans to pay for housing for poor people doesn't go over well with conservatives or liberal nimbys. Taxpayer orgs say to pay for these within the state budget and not with loans

People heard the horror stories post Covid of Mom and pop landlords being taken advantage of by shytty tenants along with conservative groups saying that rent control restricts supply. It's also been voted down twice prior.
