In the age of social media, "revenge porn" has become a big issue for many former couples. While New York pushes to ban the phenomenon, California has officially done so.
California Governor Jerry Brown signed a bill on Tuesday that outright bans exes from maliciously posting nude pictures of their former significant other online. The bill, which takes effect right away, states that one must not post nude pictures of someone online with the pointed attempt to cause them emotional distress. If caught posting "revenge porn," one could face up to six months in jail and $1,000 fine.
