The more i see this sista, she gives me the feeling that she is "woke" or at least not a kiss ass of white folks.

RIO DE JANEIRO (CBSNewYork)
— Several people took to Twitter to take Gabby Douglas to task for not putting her hand over her heart during the national anthem after the U.S. women’s gymnastics team captured the gold at the Olympics.

Douglas had her hands to her side while the rest of her teammates placed their hands over their hearts as the national anthem played.

While it may have seemed innocuous, many vented their outrage on Twitter, claiming Douglas was being disrespectful.

Really Gabby Douglas?!? Any reason why you don't have your hand over your heart??? How disrespectful. You look so disappointed to be there.

However, others felt it was not that big of a deal.

Social Media Outraged After Gabby Douglas Doesn't Put Hand Over Heart During National Anthem

Her response:

"In response to a few tweets I saw tonight, I always stand at attention out of respect for our country whenever the national anthem is played," she wrote. "I never meant any disrespect and apologize if I offended anyone. I'm so overwhelmed at what our team accomplished today and overjoyed that we were able to bring home another gold for our country!"

So is there a standard for what can be considered "Social media outrage" or is one tweet enough?
This type of scenario catches on like a wildfire. It's the equivalent of a platinum thread with 10 replies on 1 day and then 1000 the next. This riles up republicans and democrats...."how dare she" is their mindset

Click the link . I'm mobile and can't post them all, it's tons of them
I'm not talking about what you posted. I just mean in general.
I feel like these articles blow shyt out of proportion and anytime 5 people tweet about some shyt it can be labeled controversy or outrage.

:whoa:

1 affiliated journalist could cause the story to go viral. If me or you tweeted it, then it would likely be STOLEN from you and investigated if it has substance. 5 linked journalist could do a lot of damage with 1 story. That's why I say its important to control the narrative on social media. We have the power to do that and that is what you have seen #BLM, million man march, etc. If more of us would focus on progressiveness moreso than fukking entertainment on social media, it would be :whoo: Problem is that we get back to what we do (roasting, bs, gossping, singing, dancing etc) and forget about shyt fast as fukk.
