Yeah I always felt you should be able to pick your own cable package. Only thing I watch on cable is sports. I get everything else off the internet and watch it when I want.

If you have an Xbox the ESPN app is piff and it has a lot of content on there. I watched the NBA playoffs on there, they even had the Finals games. Plenty of national televised games, and they even have clips from Sportscenter and their shows like First Take and other stuff. And it's FREE. All you need is a participating internet provider.

I'm not paying for cable anytime soon so that shyt is great for me.

TNT games get the firstrow treatment along with the local games that aren't on WGN, or WCIU. You can find alternatives, but it's hard with that weak ass blackout rule that the streaming services have on local market teams. Although I have heard that there is a work around for that.

real fukking talk.. If I wasn't such a huge sports fan I wouldn't even have direct tv. If I just had something like a:

ESPN
TNT
NFL Network
NBA Network
MLB Network
Fox Sports West/Prime Ticket
Fox Soccer Channel
Gol TV
NBC Sports Network
etc


...type of package- maybe throw in a CNN, Home & Garden Channel, Food Network and I'm good to go!

I can eat off the HD antenna stations and Netflix and be good to go

Gimme the ESPN family, FOX sports/NBC sports, MLB Network and all the local sports channels (Root TV for Pens & Pirates, YES for Yankees & Nets, etc.) and I'm good.

With Netflix all I would need is the sports channels. It'll never happen though, the cable companies know they have us by the balls. If it wasn't for sports I would cancel cable all together, it's such a rip off.
