According to Ron Artest Drew had been working on shooting 3's for awhile. He said when Drew took that one during the game everyone on the bench was actually expecting it to go in.
Either way, Drew shooting three's was overblown considering how many other centers (including Dwight) were taking more 3's last year. The main gripe should have been with how early in the clock he took the shot.
