Buying Sample Kits from Your Favorite Producers?

Speak on it yall. I'm seeing a lot of producers I fw dropping lil $10, $20 sample kits. I'm kinding torn on whether or not to cop tho, I feel like the nikkas thats on right now wasn't copping sample kits, they was finding their own sounds using their creativity. But part of me is like it's only $10

But real talm I think I'm just gonna cop his bundle pack for like $200

I'm stocking up on shyt at the mo and don't mind paying for some quality stuff to help get me a bit reinvigorated

Plus you will have to add your own effects to fit in the track.

Just learn to sound design and do away with drum chase.

Cant knock the hustle but at the end of the day, you're better off creating your own so that you not only have your distinct sound but also gain the experience.

Also i think Kanye said he used to put Dre drums on some of his shyt.

Its great for sketching ideas.........even If I do use stuff from kits, I layer or mix it to sound how I want it...........

I was thinking of making my own kit...like a KONTAKT sound bank and posting it here....


I also want to make an 808 vst that generates 3rd and 2nd order harmonics with a cutoff filter.....

Drums on can't be life are the drums from explosive, a lot of producer snatch drums off records and rework them.....

Speed is the name of the game if you're a producer IMO. Yes there's occasions where you need to slow bake a track but I don't see issue with speeding up the process and buying ready made sounds when you need to.
