Basically what youre saying is we should respect England for the culture theyve built around soccer and for enthusiasm. It doesnt work like that. They always have so much invested in the WC and they cant get it done

Uruguay was able to get to the semifinals last world cup with a population of 3 mill last year and youre using Englands population as a copout

Italy has a higher population than England and has played about the same amount of international football over the years

Uruguay and other South American teams play way more international football than England

A lot of successful nations beat out England in one of the categories but given England's results over the decades and their standing in those categories they play as you would expect them to play given those variables
