Bull James (Dempsey) spoke candidly on his days in NXT, and talked about a frustrated Sami Zayn:

Hero gets fired backstage, and at the same time, Yoshi Tatsu is in the ring botching heavily.

While Yoshi comes out to get some gear he left behind, Zayn says loudly "Why the fukk is Hero fired, and this a$$hole (pointing to a now-sitting Tatsu) is still fukking here?"

Basically really upset for his unfairly fired friend.

This was during Yoshi Tatsu's NXT appearances before his eventual deavors.

Chris Hero was at his leanest in years when he got fired.

Fellows like Dr. Tom Prichard (who would know, because he was head of developmental for years) have implied he was released because he didn't have anyone to politic for him backstage.
