BRUSE WANE: INTERVIEW WHO REALLY STARTED HIP-HOP ? THE POLITICS AND...
During his London Leg of his "Level Up Tour" New York Hip-Hop Legend Bruse Wane touched base with UK Hip Hop legend and pioneer Blade; On his 05:21show. Blade is a British rapper who started his hip-hop career during the early 1980s. He is widely recognized as being the first British rapper to have released a double album on a fully independent label, being the first hip-hop artist selling records on the streets direct to fans,and using the crowdfunding method before the term existed.
Music journalist Will Ashon famously described Blade as "the underdog's underdog .Blades 2000 album "The Unknown" with Mark B was instrumental in elevating Uk Hip-Hop artist. The albums success and their single "You Don't see the signs" lead to air play on major BBC radio stations in the UK, and a stint with him touring as a supporting act to US Hip Hop legend and icon EMINEM.
Bruse Wane has worked with the likes of Sean Price, Papoose, Keith Murray, Kool Keith, Mantronix and many more. He is known for his hit Hip Hop banger "VENOM"which features the last verse of hip hop legend Sean Price, and Big Pun's son Chris Rivers. He is also known for his Hip-Hop hit "Killa Soundboy" that features Brooklyn Hip-Hop legend Papoose. During the interview Bruse Wane touches on the controversial topic of who is responsible for the birth of Hip-Hop. Bruse Wane was raised in the Bronx in the Bronxdale houses projects; which is widely regarded as one of the cradles of Hip-Hop.
The legendary Disco King Mario is also hails from the Bronxdale houses projectsand many site him not Dj Kool Herc, as the real founding father of Hip-Hop.
