Former three division world champion Adrien Broner (27-1, 22KOs) has promised to reclaim the welterweight championship. Last month at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Broner suffered his first career loss, dropping a twelve round decision, and his WBA welterweight title, to Argentine puncher Marcos Maidana.

After the match, Broner was advised by several boxing notables to drop down a division to junior welterweight. He moved up from lightweight to welterweight last June and struggled to win a twelve round split decision over Paulie Malignaggi. Broner does not appear to have a backwards step in mind. He seems to be focused on claiming another title at welterweight. "I have fun in whatever I do. Yeah I might have took my first L but watch how I come back fighting like nothing happened and make seven to eight figures. I love everybody that hates me and the ones who stayed down with me while they try to bring me down. I will be welterweight champ again" Broner wrote on the social networks.

When he returns nothing will happen, he aint top 10 at WW, no one gives a fukk about his bum ass:banderas:

I'm wondering who his 1st fight at 147 is and who is available. I'd like to see Broner vs winner of Ortiz vs Collazo or even Josesito :ehh:

unless Broner comes back with some improved footwork and a higher punch output and work rate, i dont see him beating the best guys comin up at 147...Keith Thurman would work broner..i wouldnt mind seein Broner fight The Ghost Guerrero...since they were already talkin bout fightin like a year or so ago...

Said it before, and I was rooting against him, but this loss might be the greatest thing to ever happen to him. He wasnt taking his craft as serious as he should have. A focused and determined Broner will really be a problem. Prior to this loss he was simply a nuance waiting to be exposed like fly you lost site off until it got too comfortable on the kitchen window. If he gets his sh!t in order, he'll be legendary in the ring. Raw physical ability can only take you so far.

the fight that tells you what you really need to know about adrian broner as far as what level he is was not his fight against marcos maidana but against ponce de leon who was a fighter that has been knocked out by guys like abner mares and juan manuel lopez and was moving up to fight broner at super featherweight in what was supposed to be showcase bout for broner. that was a fight a lot of people feel de leon won even though broner got the decision in a close one. the type of issues he was having against a former bantamweight like ponce de leon put the writing on the wall of what kind of issues he would be having against the top elite welterweights. simply put he is not a 147 pound fighter. its not about broner becoming more disciplined or coming back stronger. he just is not a 147 pound fighter.
