Shouldn't ruin your mood because a 16 year old doesn't even know what those are.

The shoes are classics.

This only makes sense if it was a sneaker head buying them. The sneaker heads I know been doing it for 30+ years.. So its a fit for them.. And even for the new age sneaker head. But just a random purchase, for a man in his mid 30s up, would be questionable.
