:patrice: idk breh the cartoon is about to go into its third season, the toys are everywhere...each generation gets their own turtles. Just seems less relevant to us because we're no longer kids. But to a lot kids, turtles is still the shyt. let them cook, we had our time to cook

It's about teenage mutant ninja turtles...by nature it's going to be a tad juvenile breh. There's a great little piece about the nostalgia for turtles on av club and screen rant. I love the first turtles movie from 90 but the other two are meh or trash with the 2nd one being at least watchable and the 3rd being trash. the cartoon is beyond silly and incredibly juvenile but it worked for that target audience (us as kids). This movie is attempting to speak to 3 different generations of turtles fans which isn't easy to do. not saying it's going to be great at all and in fact I'm assuming it'll be a mindless popcorn flick that will entertain but be forgotten about in a couple days after I see it but I'm not going to let nostalgia blind me and say that the turtles have always been a respectable franchise. A lot of turtle fans believe the cartoon is end all be all but then you have fans who will say that the comics are end all be all and that the cartoon ruined it for them by making them juvenile when they were initially gritty and dark and ultra violent. It is what it is at this point
