Getting compliments

Lot of the stuff that gets compliments, I don't like.

Both Dylan Blue & Sauvage EDP and kill em, and I can't stand either of them. I think I might only truly rock with BDC EDP.

Most cats get in the smell goods game to attract/holla at broads. Some cats stay in that zone.

I got selfish I guess, cause as long as I don't offend, I'm not interested in pleasing random people, broads especially.

We think the same way. I got to personally like the scent for me to wear it. The general consumers look at fragrances as an luxury item and we look at it as a way of life. The general consumer typically thinks fragrances is only used for dates or a night out and formal situations.

Lol a lot those fragcomm dudes are corny and have no style or swag. Getting compliments my ass lol. They hyped up every fukking thing they review. You got to find the ones that fit your profile.
This can be said about nearly all influencers on social media. As I get older approaching thirty I feel this way about Kevin Samuels (RIP) lowkey. Alot of the fragcom cats are basically product salesmen. Someone like Tazzo or The Perfume Guy come off as genuine. Dariene is cool too. But I ain't knocking the hustle if they can make coin on their hobby then so be it. I don't care about compliments myself either.

On another note @Monoblock I looked up the notes for "The King" by Boadicea and I see one of the notes had this beaver picture called "Castoreum".

I gotta start concentrating to remember what I am wearing for the day:

I wear so many different types of scents (oils and layered perfumes) and I automatically know what mixes the most fire.

People will ask me what I'm wearing and my mind goes blank cause i was just in a zone and my scents are so layered that i don't remember.

When I tell people I can't remember and that it is a combination of multiple perfumes and an oil. I can tell they mad and think I'm lying and just tyring to gatekeep what I have on. :francis:

Then also some of the French shyt I wear so fukking hard to pronounce that my mind doesn't even try to retain that information.

Sometimes I get asked and the person pressing me for an answer and I can't even remember 1 of the scents i used, so I just lie and say some shyt I have that I remember like "Red Wine Brown Sugar":francis:

SOTD Ombre Leather

I probably haven't worn this in a year. This has changed for me where....I have to be in the mood for Ombre Leather.
It's not intentional but I have a bunch of Tom Fords.

Tobacco Vanille - my favorite of the house (bottle)

Noir Extreme EDP - 2nd favorite (decant)

Ebene Fume - makes me feel mature and grown (decant)

Ombre Leather - it's kind of a night out fragrance. But I like it on cold days because it just seems to cut through the air for me. (bottle)

Grey Vetiver - a mistake. I don't know what I felt or thought when I bought this. I used a gift card so it didn't cost me anything. But if I could do it over, I would have bought Beau de Jour. Beau de Jour is a bit of an old man scent but there was something I liked about it. I remember telling the lady at the counter that I can't wear it now, but maybe in 10 years. I want to revisit that to see if my nose changed. Not that I'd get a full bottle but it would be a contender among the "old man scents" if I wanted one.

Im 37 years old so the influencer stuff dont even bother me because im stuck in my ways. The influencer ruined a lot of hobbies as far as the online communities, but it is what it is. Do what you gotta do to make a dollar. Cant hate on it. Just gotta be skeptical on what these people are saying.

Thats a great question. The influencer is not going away due to the fact people are making a living off of it. Just have to get back to foundation somehow without feeling like you are not trying to be convinced or sold something.
Yeah I feel where you coming from sound like you're saying you want genuine reviews and excitement rather than paid for dishonest reviews by influencers.

Basically you just want the real shyt. If someone says a fragrance is hot you want to know that the hype is real and not some company paying folks to gas up their booty juice cologne. I'm in the same boat with you. That's why I like sampling.

It might have the note in it but I don't smell it. I get a powerful plum, cardamom, and rum note. The rose plays the background but all I get with the base is the strong tobacco amber and oakmoss. It's been at least a year so I'm gonna dig for the decant today when I get home and test it out.

Kevin Samuels has a good fragrance review and breakdown that’s what he was known for before he blew up. That’s the closest I got because I agree with you I don’t like these fragrance buffs on yt. Same with sneaker heads they have the shoes but no style
