This was posted in the booth, but it obviously became a battle of the stans.

:whoo:Sounds like Jigga been on the coli

Im very critical of jay, but he spoke facts and I'm glad someone with his platform did so.
Speaks on corporate takeovers, self hate, slavery, c00ning, and the recent police murders. I'm sure this will upset certain individuals

Speak on social issues once your music streaming company is failing brehs

:snoop: @ this being militant, I hope you joking

The militant part was obvious :troll:

But regardless, he still spoke on truths that mainstream America doesn't like hearing. And for that I :salute:

I'm not so easily fooled.

Him and B have the influence BY THEMSELVES to start a revolution tomorrow.

This is true, and that's why I'm critical of them both. They have the influence and reach to make actual changes, yet they hardly use it for that.

But now that he is I can't judge him, regardless if the timing is a little sus.
As far as his business venture, it's true how people really just don't like seeing blacks compete unless it's in sports . Look at the booth and how many people are running to slander him behind this. If you don't want his service, dont buy it.
It should make people wonder why there aren't many blacks running hip hop behind the scenes. Someone like LL who was at the beginning of the rap movement, yet dudes running around trying to get acting and hosting gigs. Dude should be sitting on a billion at this point on just the business end. I don't even buy music, but I might fukk w the tidal shyt just for support. We need to support our own, period.

I thinks Jays always been like this. Him and beyonce have always come across on some " know your enemies " type of shyt. They may not always speak on things but if u really listen to his lyrics and focus on things that aren't always mentioned in the press you'll see. White people already hate them because they're successful so I just see them as being low key and making their money. Yeah Hov talk that shyt!

It is how Jay has always been. He always throws in nuggets in the midst of rapping about other shyt. This is nothing new if you're a fan of him. But because he's very capitalist, everything he does will be viewed with skepticism.

This is overstated. They are not that powerful. I think we make the mistake of forgetting that they are entertainers.

I'm a Jay stan and I :salute: the bars/performance etc.

I even get the underlying tone "hey the machine isn't built for US...they kill us...and they want to see me (black man and friends) fail" etc.

But

Hov's version of "us" isn't all of us. Homie could do way more for the communities (not saying he has to...to each his own) but he chooses not to. He uses his slickness and influence to get people to "ooh" and "ahh" but he never puts himself truly out there to inspire change. He's what, easily one of the top 100 most famous people in the world and he hasn't gone on any formal channel to speak up on any social issue recently. But he is witty enough to tie these social injustices into his raps that benefit his platform. "Buy Tidal...I'm black like you go through it like you, they kill me like you, they rip me off like you, they pay me less like you" (kinda :yeshrug:)
