I wouldn't say it's getting stuck.

Back in 03 I'd just listen to records for samples, and the long result was it wasn't fun. I was listening for particular aspects and missing everything else.

Now I just listen to music through and through, if there is something to be sampled it will jump out.

So many projects on the back burners, that i pray not to hear anything new and nice, cause it sets the shuffle again and again... and then you get lost in the loop!

Never really. There's endless possibilities out there, especially if you don't restrict yourself just to a certain type of music/sound or format you sample from. I'll sample anything though, you can find dope sounds in the most unlikeliest of places.

that's the thing about sampling.. sometimes you go in and force yourself to make something.. and you just can't.. where as original.. you have more control of shyt.. me personally i make sampled and unsampled shyt so i collect samples weekly.. i have a sample folder long as hell with dope samples i find on the internet.. when i feel like sampling.. i go through it and i know i'll find something dope in there..

Man you can't get stuck.. like there's too much to hear to just get stuck. Even if I hear something that I know I can't flip into a whole beat I might try and make a dope pattern with it on the sequencer just cause. If you get stuck you either need to open your palette of what your listening to or you need to listen more carefully maybe. I've had beat block, but just can't find something to sample? Never happens.

And I agree don't look for the perfect sample. Chop sounds for use later. Build your own library of shyt you scavenged for.
