He's not wrong but he's not right either.

the worst thing about this article is it doesn't have a specific audience in mind. Beginners, intermediates or advanced. The squat thing is only relevant to people with back/leg issues and advanced bodybuilders. The behind neck stuff is for everyone. A lot of it is "tall guy" issues too.

If he'd just titled it top 7 new gym goers should seek advice before trying or something then maybe I could at least entertain his theories. Or just say don't lift with your ego, that's what really gets people wrecked is trying to jump too quickly without nailing the basics behind those movements

I really hate sweeping generalizations about fitness, there's SO many variables people could have (long torsos, short arms, long legs, short legs, bad shoulders, suspect knees, back issues) to consider that it's dangerous to make catch all like statements

Well, I would have to agree with the behind-the-neck presses as bad. I don't do them.
As for squats and deadlifts, I've been doing squats for a long time. I maintain my form. If that means not being able to go heavier, than that's that. Plus, I always do them in a squat rack. If I can't lift the barbell with proper form. I just lower it on to the spotting bars. It's that simple. I haven't done deadlifts as long as squats, but again, I go heavy, but not super crazy heavy to where my form is compromised.

Sounds like dude is far more worried about getting injured (not saying thats bad) then actually building muscle. I thought this nikka was really about to say "stop doing compound exerises" smh
