Brehs familiar with Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Animate) help me out

I wanna make some cartoons for a project in a few months and I figure Adobe would be one of the best ways, but I'm worried by all the options available.

There's PhotoShop, Illustrator, Animate, etc... can I get away with creating cartoons in Animate only? Or do I need Illustrator, etc as well?


Also, about how long would a basic cartoon take? Nothing fancy, say a 2d character walking/looking around
