granted, this SC defense cant tackle for shyt, but

It's a cover 2 defense and the middle linebacker drops back deep in coverage if he reads pass. But the strength of the Tampa 2 back in the day was the pressure that front 4 got with sapp, simeon rice, mcfarland and company. You going to get ate if that front 4 can't get pressure.

I've always hated the Tampa 2, I feel like if Gruden isn't on that bucs sideline in the Superbowl then this defense wouldn't of gotten all this acclaim like that. Take this team back to that 3/4 life.

His d wasn't that bad in tennessee. His biggest problem is he can't scheme against the spread for shyt, and his lbs suck so he always has a safety in the box(usually tj mcdonald who I think is mad overrated) and lastly any team that gets no pressure is gonna get ate up in the pass game, its just they cant stop the run either to balance it out

The system is one thing, but it took more than 4yrs for those players to perfect the system. Dungy had Indy in Tampa 2 and they're D was only brolic when Sanders was healthy and Freeney was beasting.

nah, that defense was sick before Gruden got there.

if anything, Gruden jumped on the bandwagon, not the other way around.

I don't care how yall view it, Tampa played for the Superbowl in Philly. The Raiders stood no chance with Gruden on their sideline and a defense like that at his disposal. I wonder how it woulda looked if they went against an offense they didn't have the playbook for.
