I just have a hard time using different velocities on it by mouse.

The bass is probably the easiest instrument to learn behind the piano. I taught myself how to play both.

My favorite synth for Pads is the Albino 3 VSTi.
It's has really warm sounds in it. Probably 1 of the best VSTi's of all time especially for R&B type stuff.
