This stuff in the vid is all true but unfortunately many of us have no other choice in order to get that GI Bill, preferential hiring at many places of business etc.

Just know what you are getting into and the pros and cons. Whether those pros outweigh the cons is dependent on your prospects without military experience, your personality/genetics and how likely you are able to get full scholarship and gainful employment without serving.

If you play your cards right it can be a path out of poverty. But you have to be aware and dodge the pitfalls (aside from the possibility of being killed in the line of duty which to be honest is rarer than being killed on the streets these days).

More vets are killed at home than abroad so also think on that.
