McDowell's
Finally a step in the right direction
But
Realistically, what will come of this
Realistically, it isolates the US and israel even more.

Netanyahu can't go to any countries that are part of the ICC; he'll be arrested on the spot. Same as Putin.

You'll see both Republicans and Democrats criticize this move because their AIPAC handlers have pre-written statements for them.

It will read something along the lines of "antisemitic abuse of law", "blood libel", or just brazen threats on the ICC lawyers.

That's the practical angle.

The optimistic angle is that the West now has a reason to bush Israel and will take full advantage

The pessimistic angle is the West doubles down on its hypocrisy and wholesale denounces international law in defence of Israel

They will denounce international law and we will get back to pre-1945 norms (the law of the jungle).

If I ever hear a Western liberal wax lyrical about international law or international human rights law again... :mjlol:

To be honest, America began this "law of the jungle" when they illegally invaded Iraq in 2003. But that's for another thread...

America has done MORE than enough for Israel.

If they were minding their own biz and the Arabs jumped them, I could understand us getting involved. Israel is usually starting shyt.....if we want to maintain our standing, we gotta back off.

Never seen an issue where Dems/GOP are 100% lockstep except Israel. Republicans because of $$$ and evangelicals. Democrats because of $$$.

This will definitely happen under Trump, and a lot of our allies will completely turn against us.
