Los Angeles (CNN) --Former LAPD officer Christopher Jordan Dorner, 33, suspected in the shootings of three police officers, was fatally shot in Southern California at 4:03PM PST, during one of the largest manhunts in California history.

Dorner was also wanted in connection with a double homicide in Irvine, in which the daughter of a retired LAPD captain and her fiance were killed. LAPD officers were reluctant to give further details, but more information is expected to be given as Chief Charlie Beck prepares for a national press conference addressing the shooting.
