preface: this 2014 SF was the first soccer match I’ve watched. I heard the hype and the storylines from Mexicans at school and said I had to peep. There was a period of time where I saw these nikkas score like 3 goals in 4 minutes or sum (later found out it was 4 in 6 officially) but I didn’t understand the magnitude until Germany lost the other week. nikkas was pissed off that for FOUR years. I see it called the most embarrassing L ever...but I feel like this OSU L about 2 years back was some of the most :scust: ball I’ve seen. Unlike soccer, you’re privy to many chances of broken D in a game and OSU couldnt catch ONE break. :gucci:

1-7 by a mile.
Brazil was hosting that WC. It was "their" tournament. They were putting the 6th star on the shirt. Losing woulda been horrible b/c of the expectations of the country but to lose like that :scust: The whole country was on suicide watch. And then to add ether to the out of control fire, have Argentina possibly win the WC on Brazilian soil :lupe:

Ohio State should never have been in the playoffs if their hometown refs hadn't cheated Michigan. Still makes me sick.

Brazil getting beaten 7-1 at home in a sport where you're lucky to see 2 goals total was easily worse.

During the match, the German team seemed to realise that what was unfolding was not a normal football event.[52] In a post-match statement, Mats Hummels said that the German team had decided that they did not want to humiliate the Brazilians during the second half and after the match:[53]

We just made it clear that we had to stay focused and not try to humiliate them. We said we had to stay serious and concentrate at half-time. That's something you don't have to show on the pitch if you are playing.

You have to show the opponent respect and it was very important that we did this and didn't try to show some magic or something like this. It was important we played our game for 90 minutes.

Accordingly, the Germans cut theatrics from their goal celebrations; arms were raised but there was no jumping or screaming after scoring.[52]
:scust: Nothing worse than someone pitying you
