It's been asked on here a few times in threads for different subjects, but never made into an official thread.

It's a good comparison. Two epic period pieces. Both best picture winners.

Both also recently released on 4K.
undercover which one should i upgrade first thread:miyagi:

I'm more partial to Braveheart but I think Gladiator might be more iconic.

It's been too long since I've seen either of them though.

What say you film room brehs?

Joaquin Phoenix’s performance ———————-> any other actor or actress in either flick. His “am I not merciful” scene should of gotten the oscar.

Both in my top 15, But braveheart was the better movie to me. I was more attached to the characters in BH.

Hmmm it’s honestly been too long since I have seen either for me to say. I definitely watched gladiator more than braveheart.

i give the nod to braveheart because there's more at stake.

gladiator is a revenge story, maximus is out to seek vengeance. wallace is seeking vengeance but he's also fighting for the future of his people.

there are more powerful and emotional scenes in braveheart.

:wow:

Goatheart and Goatiator r goat tier status, and 1A and 1B for me, but I give the edge to Braveheart.

The scene were that fukkboy Robert the Bruce betrayed Wallace, and you saw the hurt in his eyes, and he starts to succumb to his injuries. Then the Irishman saves Wallace, and rides off as the theme song plays to a crescendo
:mjcry:

“He was a soldier of Rome. Honor him” I woulda pushed Lucious’ ass out the way to help carry The Spaniard :mjcry:

Both films strayed too far from the source material. I know we big on that over here.:hamster:

But gladiator is the answer.

That was a fire line. Definitely should have gotten a nomination for that.
