It's incredible. Juwan and Gilbert were ABE POLIN at the top..

Wall got that All-NBA and they signed him to the 4-year $170M max... 2 years early! Which for him, a God send, cause if he reached free agency in 2019, no chance he gets that deal.

And now Beal...

Trade kickers are the common thing. I'm surprised that no trade clauses aren't common though unless you have to give up something in return to get it.

Edit:

I remember what it is now. You have to have at least 8 years of service or 4 with the same team to get him along with a new contract, which is why it rarely happens. The majority of players just take the extensions instead of outright becoming a FA to qualify.
