UPDATE: TMZ reports that the case against Brad Pitt has been referred to the FBI. After the DCFS started the case, they followed protocol and told the LAPD’s Abused Child Unit (ACU). They decided they didn’t have jurisdiction because it happened on a flight from France to the US. That means that the FBI has jurisdiction, so the ACU closed their file and sent it to them. Sources at the LAPD believe that there may have been abuse at the family home in Los Angeles, so they will open a new case.
ORIGINAL: TMZ reports that Brad Pitt is being investigated by the LAPD and the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services for allegedly being verbally and physically abusive to his children.
Pitt, Angelina Jolie and their children were on a flight last Wednesday when he reportedly got intoxicated on their private jet. That’s when he reportedly began to lose it, and he allegedly screamed at and physically abused the kids. When the plane landed around 8 PM, Pitt continued to rant and rave as he got off the plane and tried to leave on a fuel truck. The ordeal was reported anonymously to the L.A. County Dept. of Children and Family Services. Both Pitt and Jolie have already been interviewed, with the DCFS planning to interview the children. The investigation is still underway, with the LAPD also aware of the case (which happens any time child abuse is reported).
The situation is what led to Jolie separating from Pitt the next day and then filing for divorce days after that.
A source said: “He takes the matter very seriously and says he did not commit any abuse of his children. It’s unfortunate that people involved are continuing to present him in the worst possible light.“
