When they have the yearly fundraising events on PBS, they air excerpts of concerts of legendary singing groups. The men are old timers now, but their voices are still crystal clear.

*and whatever they did, they always came to the one mic.

Some of these acts have never stopped touring, long after their days as chart toppers. They heyday were before music videos were used for promotion like that, so they had to go out their and perform to sell records and make money.

Also, OP I'm sure you remember, but to the younger members, Boys 2 Men came out /started popping not too long after the Milli Vanilli scandal.
On the heels of that, I think acts in that era made it a point to vocalize live whenever they were on TV. Even if they were just booked to talk/do interviews.
I remember my man R screaming on B2M for always doing that, haha haha.
