Rules/Guidelines

- To place your vote, simply type in the name of the person you're voting for.

- You cannot change your mind. Once you place your vote, it's final
- Voting will be open for 48 hours (2 days)
- If a fighter has a 12+ vote lead (with a minimum of 20 votes) after 24 hours, a mercy rule will be enforced
- If 48 hours pass and the vote is tied, there will be an extended 24 hour overtime period
- If it is still tied after that 24 hour period, we will go into sudden death, and the next vote will win

Just a reminder, that these tournaments are fantasy fights of prime fighters against each other.

If you believe prime Byrd beats prime Holyfield, that's fine.

But don't even bother bringing up Byrd's win over a past his prime Evander

hmm

this is surprisingly tough, & this is coming from someone that has never really been high on Byrd. It's more about Holyfield saying that small, slick boxers were a difficult style for him. He said the same thing after the Toney fight, that it is was just a bad fight for him stylistically. Obviously he was past his prime in both fights. He a problem with a former light heavyweight in Michael Moorer a little closer to his prime.

Sultan Ibragimov, was a small ass heavyweight that beat him, although past his prime. Holyfield in his very next fight fought Valuev in a fight win which everyone felt he was robbed. He was clearly more comfortable against a bigger guy.

Although some of these fights were past his prime, it's hard to ignore where the man himself has said these type of fights are a problem for him.

I'm going to go with a Prime Holyfield, but a Chris Byrd win isn't farfetched, just because style's make fights. Holyfield will admit that smaller, slicker fights are a bad match for him. However I do feel that, even with a stylistic disadvantage, Holyfield would outwork Bryd. Byrd only had 5 Ko's as well.

Bryd by Clear Decision

Holyfield is clearly the higher ranked all time boxer, but this was a nightmare style for him to box against. He'd get out worked by Bryd's combination punching and will only really get off when Bryd is on the ropes or taking a break. Bryd had a great chin too, so it's not like Evander was going to pull off some home run KO either. Holy would win some rounds, prolly 4 or 5 at best, but would get soundly outboxed for the rest of them.

Holy via late rds TKO

Byrd has his moments and takes a few rds off of Holy...but eventually gets wore down and stopped late

thats a bad style for holyfield. even in his prime he would get outworked and byrd would steal him all night with those quick little shots. those quick little shots are the key because holyfield cant get his counters off of those kinds of shots and thats what he centered his style around. boxer puncher vs a pure boxer i must pick the pure boxer

real tough fight to call since Byrd could move and win , but how often do we think a boxer will do better than they doing in reality in these circumstances

Real Deal
