As a kid i felt an obligation to accept this behavior. But after becoming successful independently. I'm too used to being in charge of people to accept that behavior anymore. I just cut rude people out of my life now, regardless of their familial status. Gotta earn respect from me

They like to throw their age around as if you should respect them solely on that, nevermind the fact that they’ve gotten completely disrespectful to you.
I’ve had to check an older woman in my own family before due to a situation like that, I tried to do it respectfully, but nah you not about to be talking to me crazy I’m grown just like you are. I put some distance there and didn’t talk to her for a long time after that either.
I know she was older, but there should always be healthy boundaries and certain lines that aren’t crossed when dealing with another adult. Many older women from an era that has long passed have no concept or understanding of that though.
