I've never seen any subtlety or self-awareness in the product like that. Drama is clearly drama and jokes are clearly jokes. Maybe there's a flick sophisticated enough to play on it, but I personally haven't seen it and it would definitely be niche audience.
And I should clarify - there is definitely a degree of sophistication in messages and shyt, like a comedy about Osama bin Laden can be a statement on imperialism and global geopolitics. But they aren't gonna do shyt that forces you to have to guess at their intentions like that.
