I know one person on Shakelogy and I know a couple of people who have tried Body By Vi and really like it. Have you tried either? Which would you recommend?

By the way, I'm not asking because I think they're miracle workers, I'm working out and eating a balanced diet...but I want a little boost and extra energy.

My friend sells Shakeology and sent me a few sample packs.

I have the Tropical Strawberry left.
It's alright. I didn't notice any energy benefit. It's just another protein shake as far as I'm concerned.

People love Shakeology because it's vegan-friendly.
But it's expensive. Something like $120 or so. And frankly not worth it over the $30-ish dollar tub of Elite Extreme whey protein I get.

The Shakeology powders are also impossible to blend by spoon. Need a blender.
The chocolate was basically a waste. And I wasn't a fan of the taste.

Just looking at the package for the Tropical Strawberry...it's 160 calories.
Most protein shakes come in around the 120-ish range.

160 isn't a big deal.
But that's if you're taking it as a meal replacement.

If you're having a sandwich and banana, you aren't going to want to drink Shakeology (or any protein shake) to wash it down.

I bought a Magic Bullet and decided to make my own shakes, because I need more greens and fruits in my diet...so this is great - I can use frozen stuff and not worry about always having to buy fresh. I'm gonna get some protein powder and just add that to the shakes.

I guess I made this thread to hear about people's personal experiences with either products...not to hear about what they are because I can read all that myself...but I was hoping someone who has actually tried them can let me know if they have been successful tools for them.

A few samples.
Up to you if you want to spend $120 for a 1 month supply.
Yah I'm not sure if it's worth it so if it had really made a difference for some people, I guess I'd try it...but wanted input.

I kind of like making these shakes with the Bullet!!! They taste really good and I know exactly what I'm putting in them. I think once I add some protein, they'll be even better.

There's something to be said about the higher quality proteins in things like Shakeology and Vi-Shape.

I just think that for what you're doing...trying to tone up and drop a few lbs, it's not really necessary to spend crazy money on things just yet.

Your weight has been stable for months now so just by exercising and eating slightly better, you'll be great.
I think if in 3 months you're looking to try something new after getting back in the workout groove, then sure, give the Vi-Shape or Shakeology a try.

That said, you do have a good point.
Some of you other coli members should chime in.

My experience with the Shakeology was just mine.
Someone else's could be different.

I'm working out now again - Mon-Fri - I'm doing the T25 program combined with Butt Bible...so I need some extra calories / energy (I'm probably around 1,200/day so should up to around 1,400/1,500)...so a dash of protein will be good. I'm not getting in a lot of greens or fruits so this will be a great way to make sure I'm eating enough during the day. I'm leaving my Bullet at work so that I can stock up on spinach and fruits between meetings etc. and then make the shakes at any time/take with me to meetings and so forth.
