Farrakhan was just one of many ministers at the time of Malcolm's death.
He didn't have any power to make that type of call.
He didn't become national spokesman for the NOI until
after Malcolm died.
Some folks also like to bring up the fact that he called for Malcolm's head in a newspaper but routinely forget that literally every NOI member at the time were saying the same exact thing, including our very own beloved Muhammad Ali.
Since then Farrakhan, Muhammad Ali etc have acknowledged their mistakes and regret their words but when ur in the heat of a war/battle there's no time for being politically correct. If it's fukk me, then its fukk you too. I can't blame those guys for standing up for what they believed in.

(according to Farrakhan) If anything the bible/quran states that those who betray/blaspheme must die, have their tongue cut out etc....and some rogue members with possibility some help some some higher ranking members took it literal and got the job done. So essentially religion in general is what gave the green light. Sadly
The sad thing about the whole situation is that we had two groups of black people who claimed to be for the people waring with each other instead of building with one another.
