They need to drop 2 heavily subsidized phones in order to grab market share. Microsoft on the other hand just doesn't seem to get it. A Free blackberry with 2 year, and a high end model for $100 with a 2 year contract can be big for them.

Mass marketing campaign and sell it on all carriers if you can. Also sell the low end model unlocked to also attract those who want to use simple mobile/straight talk for $300-$400 to get those people excited as well. RIM can do this...still many people who want a real qwerty high end phone

of lot of people still use BB's for their work phones. I have one for work. so does my sister. however my job has transititioned some folks over to iphones. Since I just got a BB upgrade this summer, I'll probably be on it for two years or so.

I got a BB 99 something and its dope cuz it still has the physical keyboard, and the screen is touch screen. I wish they would have had this years ago when i had a BB as my personal phone.

That's probably the only thing keeping RIM alive. BIS security is unrivaled and businesses will never go away from BB because of that.

from the source

RIM recently hosted two Port-a-Thon events to encourage developers to submit their games and general apps for BlackBerry 10, offering $100 for any app approved to the store. Naturally, the promise of cash seems to have worked: 15,000 apps were submitted over the course of 37.5 hours.

I aint blindly related to any phone so if the bb drop with a good price point id check it out but to be 100 I need a large screen I cant deal with just a 4-5in screen.
