WWE Champions. Say it with me now.. W.W.E. Champions. Not world's heavyweight, not ECW World...

"Black WWE Champions of the Modern Era" makes it sound like there were black WWE champions of the old days when Bobo Brazil and Ernie Ladd were wrestling or even the Rock-n-Wrestling days.

Looking at Kofi & Lashley's reigns, both were handled really well (until they ran into Brock). Kofi was arguably the strongest booked babyface champion they had at the time, Lashley was the best booked World Champion from the standpoint of just how dominant they made him look. Both were given respect for the previous work they put in and did not disappoint in the slightest.

Which is why it's so frustrating how E's reign played out. :francis: It had so much potential...

Saxton starts the vid by claiming there have been 6, so I guess we are counting the heavyweight title :mjlol:

Brehs that Elimination Chamber match had me emotionally invested in a way I never felt. It was just the right mixture of everything. D-Bry playing an A+ heel, the thought Randy would eliminate Kofi at some point, the pop after Kofi eliminated Randy, and faceoff with D-Bry, the smacking of his stomach to D-Bry telling him to bring it, and then ultimately falling short. Even as a heel, Bryan would have gotten some sort of pop on that pin, but not this time. And then Woods/Big E coming out to console Kofi with the Kofi chats. Just great shyt. :mjcry: The WM win was obviously huge and run to follow were great too, until Smackdown on Fox premiere.

Every black champion they’ve had after Rock was on the B show at the time. I guess Kofi was champ the DAY they debuted on Fox
