"The nominations for the 2024 Grammy Awards were announced, and Black Thought's "Love Letter To Hip-Hop" has been nominated in the "Best Rap Song" category.

The single and Benny Boom directed video premiered on BET Networks in February, and the audio was released by BET to streaming networks in September. The song released in honor of Hip-Hop's 50th anniversary shows love to hip-Hop legends such as Run-DMC, Sylvia Robinson, MC Sha Rock, Grand Wizzard Theodore,Jay-Z, Eric B & Rakim and DJ Kool Herc. Other nominees in the "Best Rap Song" category include Drake & 21 Savage for "Rich Flex," Ko Leray's "Players," Baby Keem and Kendrick Lamar's "The Hillbillies," Nicki Minaj And Ice Spice's "Barbie World," and Killer Mike and Andre 3000's "Scientists & Engineers."



Black Thought has won Grammy Awards previously for "You Got Me", "Hang On in There" and "Wake Up!" with The Roots and his work on the Hamilton soundtrack.

In other Black Thought news, his memoir "The Upcycled Self" is due for release on 11/14. In it, he tells the story of the four relationships that shaped him β€” community, art, friends and family. These relationships are communicated via vivid vignettes that detail the love, discovery, trauma and loss according to the book's website. "His story begins with a tragedy," the website states. "As a child Trotter burned down his family's home. The years that followed are the story of a life snatched from the flames, forged in fire."
