Wat do yall think we can realistically do? I think about this CONSTANTLY and it really saddens me. I wish i had a bigger voice to wake ppl up. I listen to the Rickey Smiley Show sometimes and all i can do is shake my head. Every song is negative trash and he has the nerve to throw in a "praise break" in the middle where he plays a gospel song

The fall of the genre is being done purposely. I think it starts with supporting real artists by buying their music and word of mouth, but its hard when these artists have big machines behind them and help them reach numerous outlets. Me personally, I don't listen to any rap or r&b around my son. Only movie soundtracks or some techno( since he likes it ), stuff about physics or space. The problem is a lot of black youth don't have a father around to do that for them

No lie but a few days ago i listened to this and i literally got teary eyed. i was thinkn why cant todays music make me FEEL anything? I have a 2year old and it saddens me the type of music she's gonna hear. I will havd to do my best to feed her mind music with soul and emotion in it

Because ANYTHING is disposable when it's free. That's what we've let music become. No time to let music marinate, no willingness to peep more positive shyt, and artists don't make it as much because no one rushes to buy it. It's less of a conspiracy and more us rejecting good healthy food like we used to as kids.

Ya, i first heard this song visiting Atlanta about a month ago. I figured it was some up and coming artist. I chuckled thinking "these ATL nikkas done loss their minds with this stripper lifestyle" but didn't think anything of it. I almost shed a tear when I learned it was actually usher, and a nationwide hit.


And not only is the subject matter repulsive and disgusting, the song is incredibly formulaic.

This is what happens when an artist like Usher is desperate after "Good Kisser" and "She Came To Give It To You" flopped on the Billboard charts. Crazy to think he had a diamond album ten years ago.

This is equivalent to gentrification, just replace land with music. They do it with everything we create. Same shyt happened to country music(black created), rock music(black created), techno(black created), even DJing— name the top 10 earning DJs around the world, all white. Skrillex and shyt. Clean off all the Graffitti in NY but banksy shyt get promoted. I'm tired of this shyt
