Black people, STOP airing your community's dirty laundry for all others to see/hear/read. Appearance is very important and you dont want others to know how divided your community/family really are. I absolutely hate when people bring up problems WITHIN the black community in front of outsiders. The same way I hate for families to discuss their problems with one another. I know i'm doing it right now being on a message board with various people of various racial backgrounds but work with me, here.

You know the ones I'm talking about:

  1. Black children not valuing things like education and knowledge
  2. Black children growing up without fathers
  3. Support (or lack thereof) of black businesses by black people
  4. Black women's disappointment with black men
  5. Black men's mistreatment of black women

Anyway, I feel certain things are internal problems and should be discussed within ourselves without outsiders present, PERIOD. Other people for the most part dont understand nor care for your problems. We have to understand that in places like Facebook and Twitter we often have "GUESTS" that can read our rants.

P.S.: Oh... and Coli peeps. I know i listed numbers 4 and 5 for but I BEG of you, please please please dont turn this thread into another black women vs black men thread. Seriously I'm throwing out my dignity and pride and actually BEGGING YOU.

How does speaking on these issues in private affect anything differently?
Some people will never change unless they are hit with the hard truths

Certain things should be handled/discussed privately. Say your daughter was pregnant and thinking about an abortion and you knew bout it (wether she told you or you found out). Would you discuss such intimate family issue in front of strangerS?

Thats why i love message boards. 90% of opinions I share with ya'll here I wouldnt dare put on facebook. Why? I have my name and family name to protect. But thats on a personal level. As a community we have to protect our "BRAND" too if you will.

Yes but handle it internally. Like I said "protect the brand"

I have another great example i would love to use but I'm afraid if I bring it up it will drown this thread with black men vs black men posts which i'm trying my best to avoid

I agree.... :ld:

But the way this generation "embraces ignorance" and considers telling all their business and personal matters as a way of "keeping it real"...

I seriously doubt it turns around anytime soon....

The thing that probably bothers me the most is blacks shytting on other blacks whether it be Lightskin Vs Darkskin, Rich vs Poor or whatever the case... its kinda dishearting especially cause I know other races look at us and "heh"

True

But thing is other races do it too but rarely do they do it in public. Whites are almost as divided as blacks (if not more) but we typically see them as a united front because they dont discuss their internal divisions in front of others.
