In the spirit of buying black-owned I came across this awesome website that sells school supplies that have a pretty “Unique” feel to it.

The note books celebrate black culture and millennial culture and I think they are super cute! Check out the view:

About the company Innovative Supplies and CEO:

Owner is Nneka and she is 27 years old and a single mother to a beautiful daughter.

From her website

I just recently left the military last month, after 9 years of service and two overseas deployments. I am starting a fresh, new chapter in my life.

This fall I am attending college. I will study to become a history teacher in my local area. I am about making a positive change in my community. This is one step towards that. I want to use this platform and this site as way to reach out to the millennials who want variety, and who want to be apart of a bigger cause.

The goals of Innovative Supplies are:

Open and deposit profits into an account with black owned Citizens Trust Bank.
Donate 40% of all profits made from book bag sales to local charities.
Provide quality products.
Hire local minority youth.
Support other small businesses
Use economically sourced materials
Use environmentally friendly packaging

Nice! It's extremely important for positive images of black men & women to be shown to our children the regular basis. It gives them a sense of belonging, a sense of confidence. It will help the later in life when they began to plan out their career.

Yeah, this is a great and very important niche.

Well if she stays in the lane of making positive shyt for little black girls fine, I guess.
Need to see more about her and her work to see if she isn't one of those black feminist LBQT plants

There's nothing available to buy. I was legit about to buy a few notebooks for my daughter but everything was either sold out or "coming soon"

Now she's gonna have to hope somebody like me even remembers that her business exists so that I can try to purchase something in the future.

Actually... with all these black owned businesses coming to light, why don't we have a sub-forum or directory to store all of these business names and links? It would help so that some of these good businesses don't fall by the wayside with regards to presence of mind.

I don't get why she's doing a limited run of everything, just in the name of making it more exclusive. This is a great idea and this is exactly the type of product that should always be readily available. I'm not sure how long she's been in business, but hopefully she'll start doing larger runs and just chalk it up to a growth lesson that every small business has to go through.

I think the small run is due to finding. She says she's just getting out of the military and starting college. It costs to order in bulk, and she just wanted to see if her idea took hold. Hopefully someone from Citizens Trust Bank can giver her a line of credit to make these items more available since its soon school supply season.
